96.Over the rice paddy

For 2 years, I could not walk thru the rice paddy from NyuhKuning to Pengosekan. A stuff told me that there was only one way, secret path from Alam Jiwa. Last year 2005 I found that route.

There is a small water bridge into Jiwa. This is made in concrete, but runs 10m high from the river, unfortunately no handrail. If you are not convinced with walk on this bridge, please walk in the water. That is for your safety. I saw 2 locals walk thru it, one was a kid who could very easily walked on both edges, other one was a farmer who walked in the water of bridge.

At the end of water bridge, you can see wide view of rice paddy like this. At this time I saw only 1 paddy with green rice plants, all other paddies were just before planting.
In the right there are some houses, they are new villas of Ubud Resort. Over the villas there is a big tree, I think it stands at Lottundut south of ARMA. Next year 2007 I wish to visit big trees around Ubud.

In left, in the direction of Ubud village & Pengosekan, there are many roofs among trees. There should be Tegal Sari in this direction.

Foot prints under water. I remember when I was a kid(50 years ago) I stepped into rice paddy like this, silky clay came between my foot fingers, it was muddy but walm. Old old memory.

you can see Monkey forest over the foot path.

From the distant, rice paddies look gentle slope. But actually there are big steps. Steel pipe shown in left is water supply? from where to where?

Nuts trees in the water.

I came to center of wide rice paddies, without difficulties. Some people plant the rice grass into bottom of water. My destination is red roofs over there. From this point, my walking route turned to adventure...

One route is too shallow to walk, other route is covered by water. After some trying, I found one route to red roofs. Farmers are working in right side. Lest 50m short walk to goal!
B U T, but, but ... this way is also sinking under water just in front of the buildings.
If you want to try to walk like me, please wear sandals and keep washing water.

Finally I saw a door at the corner of fancy stone fence.
Getting inside the door, I saw white wall of bangallows, ??? Does Tegal sari have white wall?
I asked a young stuff " Where am I?" He said "Ini Green Field"
Oh I made mistake, I came to another bangallow next to Tegal.
I wished to be "Foreigner came from rice paddy"...
It was very very long way to home in Nyuhkuning.
